Kraig,

I just got done listening to Amazing Grace and others on the sample page.. I am blasting it at work for everyone.. Excellent.

I have been getting people together to share music for Earth Day events. If you are interested in joining us in April 2003 or putting together a PADS benefit feel free to email me.

We also get together to play music at Duke Obriens in Crystal Lake on Wednesday's 9pm and The Escape in Fox River Grove on Thursday's 9pm

We can help to keep all of this music alive... jeff, www.bporch.net, www.musicbenefits.com

12/01/02 - St Louis Fan -

Heard some rumors that the foam circle which holds the MAKTUB CD in it's packaging may come off. Kraig told me he is investigating this.

Why would you want to put it back into the package, anyway?

11/23/02 - Marlyn -

Hi, Kraig- Song Iowa is on the fav list. List is growin!

11/22/02 - Katie -

Oh! And I forgot - Kraig mentioned Buy Nothing Day...yes...do this! Go to www.adbusters.com. Spread the word! If anyone in Tampa wants to hook up and spread some anti-consumerism cheer send me an email! I am down with raising some hell (and consciousness).

11/22/02 - Katie -

I heard Kraig play in Tampa last week. It was a happy love filled experience. So blessed to bump into such talented righteous souls. Cannot wait to see him again. Peace to all. Katie

11/22/02 - kraig -

i thought this was so cool i wanted to encourage folks to read this ilove it when the earth friendly suggestions come in keep them comming

Earthbook addition: Name - Pam eMail - pkaufman@netexpress.net November 29th is "Buy Nothing Day". Boycott the holiday shoppping frenzy and buy nothing. for more info, check out www.adbusters.com

Organize a swap meet with friends. Bring items from your home that are hiding in backs of closets, or collecting dusk. Bring them out into the light of day and help them circulate in the Universe. The old saying what's one person's trash, is another's treasure, is so true. Its a fun way to have "new" things without feeding the shopping mall madness monster. I've taken part in several swap meets, they're quite fun. and we had someone from a local homeless/transitional shelter come and take any remaining items they thought their folks could benefit from. Clean out your house and help others too.

11/21/02 - Jamie Lambrecht -

Hello from Montana...you are fantastic! Wishing you the best of luck, and hope my next trip to the windy city will be one with you on the radio. Thank you for the great taste of good music!

11/17/02 - Dan Byrnes -

Kraig, I was glad to have opened my home to you and offer a good nites sleep. You have my info if you ever need a place to stay. The hot tub is always there. I have listened to you for many years and even had the honor of seeing you play in my old neck of the concrete blocks in Chicago for a Blues Fest. I always enjoy your music at the Sweet Bean because I don't have to worry about smoke and people talking over your music. Remember that what you do touches many people, including myself. It is amazing to see you play live. I wish you luck at Aida's store and I hope you find what you are looking for!!!!

Vaya Con Dios Mi Amigo

11/17/02 - Dorothy Burdick -

11/13/02 - Dimitri Nicoli Jansen -

Hey guys,

Hope everyone is doing well out there. Kind of a little letter from the editor here. I am actually proud to say that I am the photographer that took the cover picture of Kraig on the Maktub cd and some of the shots on the inside too. I do have to say that the ones I didn't take are really amazing too.(I. E. the back cover). It is so cool being a part of a creation as amazing as Kraig. I can't help but think of cruising down the highway in Kraigs new euro van last spring and having him say, "you want to check out some new stuff for the upcoming cd?" The felling to hear it coming straight from the heart and watching Kraig smiling away, waiting to see what I'd think. I can't say enough good things about it. Being able to discuss the lyrics and what they meant, knowing what part of his soul it came from and how it's helped him grow. That's what art can do. It can and does change lives. It makes you think, makes you feel, makes you come alive. I'll share a quote from an outstanding book.(Wild at Heart by John Eldridge) "Don't ask what the world needs.....ask what makes you come alive and GO DO THAT, because what the world needs.......is people who have come alive." So let this music speak to your deepest questions let it feed your greatest desires and let it be an excuse to do what makes you come alive. That is why you like it isn't it..........because it makes you feel? God Bless you all. Kraig....cheers, on a great new album, I am proud that I could be a part of it. Until we hang again

D

P.S. I'd love to know what you all think of the cover and pictures. Give me a mail if ya dont' mind or if any of you are musicians and need any work Thanks

11/11/02 - Carla -

Kraig - Heard you again the other nite at Charlotte's Web. You blow us away. We are looking forward to First Nite (thats where we first heard you last year)

Got some friends who live up the road from Punta Gorda in Rotonda West & I am going to tell them to get on down & hear you.

Like your website too, as I do my email and listen to your exerpts. We just got your "Pass the Hat" cd & are enjoying it a lot, although I want to hear even more dobro - love it.

Also stopped & had lunch at the Firehouse today - that must be a great venue for you. Maybe we will be able to get down there sometime.

Have fun in Florida.

11/10/02 - Haley -

Hey Kraig, it's Haley. I really liked ur show the other night, I'm glad you guys took me with ya. my dad has heard of you, i was surprised, but maybe i shouldn't have been.

11/09/02 - Pam -

What a wonderful site! A big thanks out to my friend Tommy Gallagher for the turn on.

11/08/02 - Bob "Yeti®" Fredericksen -

I met Kraig about 9 years ago in Galena, IL. back when J.P. was still here. Dave Rush played drums that night as well. I've seen him, and the revolving band members, live several times from Iowa to Illinois. Kraig's performances are almost un-equalled. I wish I could see him live more often. I highly recommend all of Kraig's material, and if you are lucky enough to see him play, you won't be disappointed. The new album "Maktub" is remarkable! I am a proud collector of his entire catalog. Keep up the beautiful work my friend. All my best, ~Yeti®

11/07/02 - Ray W. -

MAKTUB is TERRIFIC, not surprising, considering that all 6 of your cds are great. The time, effort and care you put into your music sets you apart. I'm already looking forward to your next offering. Ray W.

11/06/02 - Sydd -

MAKTUB must be the result of much soul-searching. Still blows my mind to think such an exceptional musician is also a wonderful, thought-provoking lyricist as well. Now that's a "two-fer" one doesn't often have the pleasure to enjoy. Kudos, mate! P.S. - Please tell Andy "hi" for me - he is a sweetie.

10/20/02 - andQ -

hey Kraig, It's been a long awaited journey, but all the struggles with the new cd and life in general will pay off. And I say this because good things happen to great people. It's been a pleasure and fun experience this past year and a half working with you rather than for you. The new cd will hopefully be a big break, but in my eyes it will always be a #1 hit. Thanks for being a great friend, giver of advice, and merciful boss. I send you peace my friend. Do You?! AndQ

08/29/02 -

Really great website!!!!!!

08/17/02 - Lorri -

Just got back from hearing you play at Charlie Fox's in Batavia, Il. Your sounds are wonderful. Thank you

08/16/02 - Tom, Kevin and Brian Cronin -

You guys were on fire in Palatine! Maybe it was because you finally got to use the big speakers and really let loose or feeling the energy of the crowd, but you all certainly took it up to another level on Wed. I am glad my older son got to hear you one more time before he has to go off to college. If you start getting hits from a bunch of people from Lexington, it is because he is spreading the gospel of Kraig Kenning there. Maybe a tour stop on your way to Florida this year. The 16 year old keeps hoping to hear "Michael" at one of your concerts. I guess that is proof that your music cuts across all age lines, we all know good music when we hear it. Just a thought for the Blues Festival next year, check out Harry Chapin's Bluesman on his Dance Band on the Titanic album. It is a natural for you and Steve.

08/15/02 - Bob & Donna -

I can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful summer evening than sitting out under the stars listening to good music. Good is really an understatement. It was great music. Kraig,Jim,Larry thank you for a very enjoyable night in Palatine. What's really so good about your music is it appeals to all ages-there's something for everybody. We love watching the little kids dancing around.

08/11/02 - terri and ralph -

07/29/02 - Abigail Darr -

Kraig,

I was so impressed with your talent when you played here at the Skokie Public Library. I hope you will perform here again next year. I know of friends who would love to hear your music. Maybe we will show up at another event you are playing at.

I also wanted to tell you I over heard you mention a book to a patron. The Alchemist. I had just brought the book and started it that evening. What a wonderful eye opening story.

Abbey

I cannot wait until your visit here to St. Louis on Sunday. I fell in love with the steel guitar during a Vassar Clements concert here a few years ago when Doug Jerrigan played with the band. Never seen one up close, though. Did you know St. Louis has a Steel Guitar Hall of Fame downtown?

Hello! That´s a very nice page!

06/12/02 - Mike -

Saw you playing at 2002 Chicago Blues Festival. Really killer performance! My girlfriend and I thought you were the best duo at the whole festival!

Questions: 1. Do you ever play near Baltimore/Washington D.C.? 2. Do you have any VHS of your performances for sale? (or DVD).

--- Mike

06/10/02 - Jason -

Congatulations Mr. kenning on your success. Nice site by the way. So you seem like an acclaimed artist. How did you get where you are? where do you guys send your completed songs to get published? I need help! Tell me what did you do, where was your lead, where did you learn to get to where you are? You know, I've been using that new service called Inside Sessions, the website is just Inside Sessions. They have a program for songwriters with some very good info. Basically, established songwriters like Bernie Taupin, Will Jennings and more I don't remember talk about their secrets to success. Also, and this was really cool, when you register for the service, you get to submit a song to an A & R for written feedback about structure, lyrics, and originality. I know, what do these guys know right? Well, all I do know is I want to get published, I hope I get that publishing deal they offer to like the best three songs, I think I have a good chance man. Anyway, what did you do to get published? Any info would help greatly....

06/06/02 - Mike Neumann -

I caught your act at the Blues Fest last Saturday (6/1/02). You sounded great! I'd love to learn to play slide like you do. My next guitar will be a Dobro.

Also, A friend of mine, Jeff Perry from Monkeys Uncle Studio (now called Harrison Road) said to say hello.

Jam on,

Mike Neumann

YOU ARE ONE OF THE GUYS THAT HELPED ME REALIZE I SHOULD DO MORE OF MY OWN STUFF IF I'M GONNA DO THIS FOR A LIVING. I'M ALREADY DOING OVER 200 SHOWS A YEAR SO I MIGHT WANT TO DO MORE OF MY STUFF. AND THAT IS WHAT I'M DOING MORE OF LATELY. IT SEEMS A PRODUCER HEARD A NEW SONG OF MINE IN FEBRUARY AND SAYS HE CAN GET ME IGNED WITH AWARE RECORDS (COLUMBIA) AND EVER SINCE THEN I "WOKE UP" AND HAVE WRITTEN 10 SONGS OR SO IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS.(was that a run on sentance?" THROUGH ANOTHER GUY WHO IS STARTING TO TAKE ME OUT OF MY HOME STUDIO AND RECORD ME IN HIS STUDIO I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A CHANCE TO GET SIGNED WITH ARISTA RECORDS THROUGH A GOOD FRIEND OF HIS WHO JUST BECAME THE NEW A&R REP FOR A NEW DIVISION OF ARISTA. EXCITING AND SCARY ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I SAID ALL THAT TO SAY THANX FOR SHOWING A GUY YOU MET AT WALMART THAT A LOCAL REGULAR GUY COULD DO THIS FOR A LIVING WITHOUT HAVING TO PLAY COVERS AND ENDURE MUCH UNWANTED SMOKE FROM CANCER STICKS IN THE AUDIENCE AND FREON FILLED WINDOW AIR CONDITIONING UNITS. yOU ARE A BLESSING AND I PRAY THAT THE GOOD LORD BLESSES EVERYONE THROUGH YOUR FINGERS AND THE SOUNDS THAT ENTER THIS WORLD THROUGH YOUR THROAT.(was that too weird?" BLESSINGS TO YOU IN JESUS' NAME!!! {and I mean that, bro...} DAVE

Kraig, I happened on your music by chance. I'm a native Chicagoan and an avid XRT fan even though I now reside in CT. Your music is awesome and spiritrually moving. Once that IRS refund check comes in I will be picking up a couple of cd's.

Keep the spirit, keep the faith and keep the change, Jerry

Saw you at JR's Old Packing House 6 March 2002. Blew me the hell away. Four days later & I still can't stop thinking about that night. Your cover of Across The Universe had me thinking John was reincarnated up there on stage. Can't wait 'til next winter when you come back down here.

Peace

Wonderful! I was at the Coconut Grove Art Festival and as I walked through the St. Stephen's area - I discovered you. I bought your latest CD, you signed it and continued on my walk through the show. I played you that evening and was instantly a fan. I look forward to seeing you again. Thanks for the music - Jack

Kraig,

A musician friend of mine saw you in Florida recently, and sent all his StringDancer friends to your site to visit. Now I know why. I had a very serious hospital visit last year, and I know that I had many spiritual assistants, all of whom I am sending to your Mom and your Sister. I had some very magical help in my recovery also, and Dennis, my friend in Florida, was one of those helpers. Since he has guided me to you, I am just letting you know that I will say extra special prayers and will send extra special requests on behalf of your Mom and Sister.

P.S. If you come to Canada, why not think about Ottawa's BluesFest, one of the best in the country? Let me know and I can send you some info. I am going now to see where I can find one of your CDs. Take care, glad to have met you.

Heather

Cruising the Mt. Dora Arts Festival yesterday I enjoyed the alt.country sounds of the Hindu Cowboys and electric fiddle from Watson and Company but my day wasn't complete until I turned the corner on Fourth Street and heard this incredible slide guitar sound. I spent the rest of my day there fascinated by your music. Thanks.... I'm enjoying "Every Precious Moment".

G'day Kraig from "Down Under". I have just been given a copy of your CD "Every Precious Moment" by an old friend of yours - Steve Arvey. He stopped by for a gig in Bruthen - south east Australia - before heading off to Tasmania. It is great stuff - I really relate to your thoughts. Keep it up.

Terry

Kraig, Thanks for the great time we spent listening to you @ the Algonquin Library. I have listened to "Every Precious Moment" and "Pass The Hat" many times & can't get enough. (I'm the guy that saw you at Borders in Crystal Lake & when I went there to find out when you were coming back, I found out about the gig at the library on that same day.) Also, appreciate signing the cds and the poster. Have a great time in FL. Craig Collier

I had the most enjoyable afternoon @ the Beaux Art Festival @ U of M in Coral Gables, FL.( Sunday, 20 Jan.'02) The music & the sound were the best I've heard in a long time. Not to mention that my two small dogs fully enjoyed the quality of the people that were attracted to the sound. I look forward to hearing you again @ the Coconut Grove Arts Festival in February.
